FRANKLIN, Ky. (AP) - A police pursuit in southern Kentucky has ended with a woman’s death on Interstate 65 in Warren County.

Franklin Police Chief Todd Holder told The Daily News (https://bit.ly/1b9QNbt ) officers began pursuing the woman at about 11:30 a.m. CDT Friday while looking for a burglary suspect. The chase proceeded through Franklin at about 60 mph before heading onto I-65.

The pursuit reached speeds of 90 mph on the interstate before police called off the chase.



Holder says Simpson County deputies took over the pursuit for the safety of other drivers. State Police Trooper Jonathan Biven says the woman ran off the road at about 12:16 p.m. CDT and her vehicle overturned, throwing her.

The woman’s name has not been released pending notification of family.
