HERNDON, Va. (AP) - Police in Herndon say they’re investigating after a 30-year-old man was found dead in a creek.

An area resident called police on Friday around 8 a.m. to report what appeared to be a body in the creek located near Center Street and Locust Street. Police identified the man as Damien Patrick Scanlan of Herndon.

Police say they’re looking for information from Scanlan’s friends and members of the public who may have seen him in the area Thursday night.

Police say a preliminary investigation did not reveal foul play. A medical examiner will determine Scanlan’s cause of death.
