BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a car chase in south Mississippi ended with the driver wrecking his vehicle and knocking out power for some residents in Biloxi.

Biloxi police Sgt. Jackie Rhodes tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/Ly7rvP ) that the chase started Saturday after authorities received a call about a possible car burglar wanted by Ocean Springs police.

Rhodes says the man wrecked his vehicle just after 1 p.m., but didn’t appear to be injured.

Coast Electric spokesman Ron Barnes says the accident knocked out power to about 1,172 accounts in the area.
