SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Newly released dash-cam video shows a fatal shooting by a New Mexico State Police officer following a chase of a vehicle whose driver hadn’t complied with a traffic stop.

The video released through public-records requests shows Officer Oliver Wilson running alongside the car and shooting at it multiple times while ordering the occupants to get their hands up.

Authorities have said Wilson opened fire right after the car drove aggressively toward him and that the shooting of 39-year-old Jeanette Anaya was justified.

District Attorney Angela “Spence” Pacheco has said Wilson testified before a grand jury that he feared for his life when Anaya backed into his police vehicle.

A lawyer for Anaya’s parents contends the shooting wasn’t justified.
