MONROE, La. (AP) - A Quitman man has been indicted in connection with the production of child pornography in 2012.
According to the indictment, between Feb. 1 and March 30, Christopher Nixon, 21, reportedly produced child pornography using a male under the age of 18.
U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley said the hunt for Nixon began late last year when Canadian officials discovered a library of child pornography during a separate investigation. Among that collection was a video of whom police believe to be Nixon engaging in sexual acts with a child.
The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/1b7Rthp ) Nixon faces 15 to 30 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 and five years of supervised release if found guilty. He also faces forfeiture of the equipment used to produce and store the pornography.
