YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - Yakima police say an officer shot a man who threatened officers with a rifle and refused to drop the weapon.

Officers had responded to a report of domestic violence about 9 p.m. Thursday at a mobile home.

Police says the suspect threatened officers in a narrow hallway. When he refused to drop a rifle, an officer fired five or six shots.

The man was wounded in an arm and treated at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Police say he’ll be jailed for investigation of assault.
