NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve charged a 28-year-old woman in last week’s hit-and-run death of a man who was struck by her car as he walked to his job at a Hudson Valley manufacturing company.

Police in the Orange County town of New Windsor tell the Times Herald-Record of Middletown (https://bit.ly/1eQ6MjJ ) that Linda Ibrahim of Cornwall-on-Hudson was arrested Thursday and charged with vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Police say she failed to stop after hitting 32-year-old Eric Geter of the city of Newburgh as he walked along a road early on the morning of Jan. 9. His body was found in a creek by the road.

She’s being held in the county jail pending arraignment. It couldn’t be determined if she has a lawyer.
