PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A jury hearing the retrial of reputed Philadelphia mob boss Joseph “Uncle Joe” Ligambi has a partial verdict but is back at work.

The 74-year-old Ligambi is on trial with his nephew, 50-year-old George Borgesi, in a gambling and loansharking case.

Jurors say they have verdicts on two counts Friday but are deadlocked on three others. Their note follows a similar one earlier this week.

U.S. District Judge Eduardo Robreno has told them to try once more for a full verdict.

The trial testimony paints Ligambi as the head of a fading La Cosa Nostra crime family.

But defense lawyers call the case a government “witch hunt.”

Ligambi’s reputed underboss and enforcer are in prison after convictions in the first trial last year.
