DETROIT (AP) - A 45-year-old Detroit area man has been accused of assaulting a teenage girl, forcing her into his car and driving away.
Anthony Fortson of Hamtramck was arraigned Friday in Detroit’s 36th District Court on charges of unlawful imprisonment and assault and battery.
It’s not clear if Fortson has a lawyer.
Authorities say Fortson assaulted and abducted the 15-year-old girl Tuesday evening as she was about to enter her Detroit home. Prosecutors say he drove the girl to his house, but she ran to a nearby home and called police.
He was ordered held on a $100,000 cash bond. His preliminary examination is scheduled for Jan. 29.
