MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Kareem Jamar scored a career-high 33 points on 8-of-14 shooting and 14 of 16 free throws in Montana’s 84-71 victory over North Dakota on Thursday night.
Jordan Gregory and Keron DeShields had 11 points each for Montana and Andy Martin scored 10. The Grizzlies (7-7, 2-3 Big Sky) opened the game on a 14-4 run by making their first four 3-pointers and maintained their advantage for a 34-24 halftime lead.
North Dakota closed to within 43-40, but the Grizzlies answered with 13 straight points to take a 16-point lead midway through the second half.
Montana held a double-digit lead for nearly the rest of the game until North Dakota cut the gap to 80-71 with 53 seconds remaining.
Troy Huff led North Dakota (5-10, 2-3) with 24 points and seven rebounds. Aaron Anderson had 14 points and Josh Schuler scored 10.
