ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An Anchorage grand jury has indicted 59-year-old Anchorage man suspected of a stabbing in an eastside restaurant.
Deputy district attorney Clint Campion says in an announcement that Olin Anderson was indicted for first-degree assault, a felony.
He’s suspected of stabbing Thomas Stockmal on Dec. 17.
KTUU-TV reported in December that Stockmal suffered a wound to his abdomen. Police responded and found Anderson holding a hunting knife with a 4-inch blade.
A witness told police that Stockmal, a regular at the Fifth Avenue restaurant, was leaving when he was approached by Anderson, who may have asked him for money.
The witness told police Stockmal continued walking and was assaulted. The witness said Stockmal held the restaurant door shut so Anderson could not exit.
Stockmal was taken to a hospital.
