BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Authorities say drug agents arrested three Tara High School students in the investigation into an unloaded handgun taken to the school.
Casey Rayborn Hicks, a spokeswoman for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, says the arrests bring the total number of people booked in the investigation to four.
Hicks tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1eQ4xgg ) a 16-year-old girl who allegedly took the unloaded 9 mm handgun to school Wednesday with the intention of selling it has not been arrested.
Investigators say the girl traded the gun for a cellphone to Cody East, whose older half brother, Compton East, was arrested after he tossed a backpack holding the gun over a fence during a confrontation with agents.
On Thursday, investigators arrested the three additional teens - Cody East and a 17 and 16-year-old boy.
