STANTON, Calif. (AP) - Law enforcement officials have arrested 10 people on state and federal charges after a gang sweep in the Orange County city of Stanton.

The raids Wednesday were the result of a 16-month investigation into gang-related narcotics and gun-trafficking activity in and around the city.

Eight people were arrested on state charges and two people were arrested on federal charges during the raid.



Eight people had been previously arrested on federal charges and eight on state charges due to the investigation.

During the probe, undercover agents bought 17 guns, nine pounds of methamphetamine and a ballistic vest.

The raid included officers from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Montebello and Long Beach police.
