LIVONIA, Mich. (AP) - A large fire at a warehouse building in suburban Detroit created smoke that was visible for miles before crews put out the blaze.

No injuries were reported after the Wednesday morning fire. The Detroit News reports the building housed a recycling business containing hazardous accelerants, including cans of aerosol, paint and oil. Hazardous materials crews responded and officials plan to check the air around the site.

Livonia Fire Chief Shadd Whitehead says firefighters want to ensure any contamination doesn’t get into the ground or water.

The fire affected traffic on area roads. WWJ-AM reports crews worked for about two hours before getting the fire mostly out.
