PHOENIX (AP) - A 51-year-old Phoenix man accused of killing his 13-year-old son with an ax has pleaded not guilty.
Gary Reagan Sherrill entered the not-guilty plea Wednesday morning in Maricopa County Superior Court. He is jailed in lieu of $1 million bond.
Police have said Sherrill told officers that he believed his son was a demon and was going to eat him.
Neighbors had called 911 to report odd behavior by Sherrill days before the killing but police couldn’t locate him and no report was filed.
