ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) - Lawyers are working on a trial date for a Vermont man accused of shooting to death a woman during a road-rage dispute.

Thirty-year-old Matthew Webster of Swanton has pleaded not guilty to the September shooting death of 30-year-old Anna Alger of Highgate.

Webster allegedly ran a red light in St. Albans and was nearly struck by Alger’s car. Alger got out of her car and was yelling as she approached Webster.

The Burlington Free Press reports (https://bfpne.ws/19u4kiQ) Judge Michael Maley said a trial date in the summer is most likely, but he set no final schedule during Tuesday’s hearing in Vermont Superior Court. Another hearing is scheduled in about two months.
