NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 39-year-old man is in jail after a search of a Hudson Valley storage unit turned up several illegal firearms.

Officials tell the Times Herald-Record of Middletown (https://bit.ly/1b2FtxD ) that police officers from the city and town of Newburgh in Orange County executed a search warrant last Friday at a Newburgh city storage business and seized 22 long guns and a handgun.

Police say the long guns included three assault rifles that are banned under New York state law.

Officials charged 39-year-old Michael Pultz of Beacon in neighboring Dutchess County with multiple felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

He’s being held Wednesday at the Orange County on $25,000 bail. It couldn’t immediately be determined if he had a lawyer.
