CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) - Maryland health officials say there has been another death caused by cold weather in the past week, this time in Allegany County.

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said Wednesday that a man who was 65 years old or older died in the county. The state did not release a date or exact location of the death.

Allegany County Health Department spokeswoman Brenda Caldwell says the county was made aware of the death but had no further details. Police agencies in the county said they had not received any reports of a cold-weather death.

The state says there have now been seven cold-weather related deaths this winter.
