CHESAPEAKE, Va. (AP) - A Chesapeake man faces charges after his car hit four people who were trying to help a woman struck by another vehicle.

Chesapeake police tell media outlets that 71-year-old Melvin Glover was charged Wednesday with DUI.

The first accident around 8 p.m. Tuesday night when a vehicle hit a woman. Four passers-by were trying to help the woman when a second vehicle driven by Glover came through the area and hit all five people.



Police say the passers-by and the woman were taken to local hospitals. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
