GASTONIA, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Cleveland County have arrested three people after investigators said they stole a van and used it to ram a convenience store to steal an ATM.

Sheriff Alan Norman said the three may be connected to other break-ins in Cleveland and Gaston counties in the past two weeks.

Octavius Parks of Belmont and Khadijah Banks of Gastonia are each charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods. Banks is being held in the Cleveland County jail under a $500,000 bond, and Parks is in jail under a $100,000 bond.

Norman said a third person has been apprehended and would face charges similar to those of the other two.

It’s not clear whether Banks or Parks have attorneys.
