SHAMOKIN, Pa. (AP) - A school bus driver escaped injury when his unoccupied bus slammed into the front porch of a Pennsylvania home, knocked down a tree and struck a pickup truck and a natural gas line.
It happened after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in Shamokin, Northumberland County.
No students were on the bus at the time and no one was injured.
Bus driver Richard Startzel told The News-Item (https://bit.ly/1ho4CYK) that he didn’t know what caused the vehicle to crash. The 74-year-old bus driver was able to get out of the bus through the back emergency door.
The reason for the crash is still under investigation.
