YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A boy was hit by a police car Monday afternoon near Garfield Elementary School in Yakima.

Police say the 13-year-old was trying to cross the street when he ran into the path of the car. The officer gave him first aid.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports (https://bit.ly/1dmTQ4e) the boy was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that did not appear to be serious.
