GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) - A 21-year-old Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to five to 15 years in prison for the drug-related crash that killed a 15-year-old girl riding in his car.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (https://bit.ly/1a3R4lN ) that Edward Lier of Wallkill wept during his sentencing Monday in Orange County Court as he apologized for killing Alana Tadry of Plattekill in the crash that occurred in the town of Newburgh in November 2012.

Lier pleaded guilty last November to aggravated vehicular homicide.

Police say he was high on marijuana and prescription drugs when he drove in excess of 100 mph before crashing into another vehicle on Route 32. The teenage girl’s boyfriend, Lier’s then-girlfriend and the driver of the other car suffered serious injuries.
