BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Bismarck woman has been sentenced to probation for neglecting a boy in her care.

Thirty-one-year-old Bonnie Maddock on Monday pleaded guilty to a felony child neglect charge and also to a misdemeanor count of unlawfully providing day care services. The Bismarck Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/KgVNnn ) she was given about a year and a month of suspended jail time and put on supervised probation for three years. She also must complete 40 hours of community service.

Maddock was charged after a 4-year-old boy in her care wandered away from her home last July and was found walking alone at a city intersection. Authorities also determined that Maddock was not properly licensed to care for as many children as she did.
