HOWELL, Mich. (AP) - Jury selection has begun in the trial of a man charged with a series of shootings on and off Interstate 96.

Forty-four-year-old Raulie Casteel is on trial Tuesday in Livingston County Circuit Court in Howell. The state attorney general’s office is prosecuting him on terrorism and other charges.

Casteeel pleaded no-contest in November to related charges in Oakland County and is awaiting a sentence.

The unemployed geologist is suspected of two-dozen random shootings in four counties in late 2012. Police say they matched his gun to bullet fragments recovered from victims’ vehicles. No one was seriously hurt.
