WAYNESBURG, Pa. (AP) - The district attorney says an inmate’s death at a state prison in southwestern Pennsylvania was being investigated as a “potential homicide.”

Greene County District Attorney Marjorie Fox tells the (Washington) Observer-Reporter (https://bit.ly/1kzPNaf ) that 22-year-old Ronald Yarbough’s death is “still being investigated.”

Yarbough, of Cresson, was found unresponsive in his cell about 6 p.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Results of an autopsy performed Saturday have not been publicized.

Yarbough was serving one to four years for aggravated bodily injury to a law enforcement officer, stemming from an incident in Cambria County in 2010.

He was serving the sentence at the State Correctional Institution-Greene. A state corrections spokeswoman says the department is waiting for state police and internal investigations to conclude before commenting.
