SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - A South Bend police officer was taken to a hospital after a squad car collided with an SUV and slammed into a building.

The crash happened about 2 a.m. Monday, with the squad car going over a sidewalk and hitting a building near the city’s downtown owned by Michiana Moving and Storage.

WSBT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1dppQGs ) the officer suffered minor injuries.



The crash left the door and front end smashed in on the car’s passenger side. The impact knocked a hole through the wall of the brick building.

Details on the circumstances of the crash weren’t immediately released.
