SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Scottsdale police say officers shot and fatally wounded a man when he pointed a shotgun at them.

Officer David Pubins says the shooting occurred Sunday night after officers went to an apartment complex where the man had fired a shotgun in the air.

According to Pubins, the man earlier had been arguing with a family relative and had fired the shotgun inside the unit where they both lived.

No officers or other person were injured.

Pubins say police expect to release the dead man’s identity Monday.
