IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - An Iowa City man has been accused of eating marijuana in an attempt to hide it from police.
Police say 19-year-old Quentrel J. Johnson was stopped Friday in a vehicle without headlights on. Authorities say the car had a strong odor of marijuana.
Johnson was asked to open his mouth, and officers found chewed up marijuana on his tongue and teeth. A plastic bag of the drug was in his crotch area. A prescription bottle of codeine with no patient name was in the car, as well as $3,000 in cash.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (https://icp-c.com/KVRJtq ) Johnson faces several drug charges, as well as an aggravated misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice for allegedly eating the pot. Court records do not list an attorney.
