COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) - An officer-involved shooting after a hit-and-run accident north of Denver has left one man hospitalized. The police investigation into the crash is also slowing down traffic during Monday’s morning commute.

Colorado State Patrol investigators say they were responding to a hit-and-run crash early Monday in the Commerce City area and located a driver.

According to KMGH-TV (https://bit.ly/1ajm3Vo), the driver ran and investigators believed the person was armed. At some point, a state patrol trooper fired on the suspect. No details have been released about the suspect’s injuries.

A mile of Interstate 270 is closed between interstates 25 and 76.
