AMELIA, Va. (AP) - An Amelia couple whose 10-year-old son accidentally shot his brother has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor gun charge.

Media outlets report that Patrick and Joanna Callaway pleaded no contest on Monday to failing to secure a firearm. They were ordered to pay a $100 fine.

Prosecutors say the shooting occurred on Oct. 9, 2013. The older boy has since recovered.



The 10-year-old was charged with reckless handling of a gun.
