WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A New Castle County councilman wants to make it easier for all county residents to see their government in action.

Councilman Bob Weiner has proposed broadcasting all council meetings on the county’s television station and online. The council is set to vote on two related resolutions Tuesday.

Under Weiner’s proposal, meetings and hearings would be broadcast live and repeated later. Meetings would also be streamed online and could be viewed on-demand. County Executive Tom Gordon would implement the telecasts

The proposal faces concerns about making council meetings longer and who would control recordings.

Council President Chris Bullock says he will vote against the measure because meetings are accessible enough already. Councilwoman Janet Kilpatrick says she wants the council to have control of the recordings.
