MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police are investigating the death of a pedestrian hit by a light rail train.

Authorities say a man was struck at an intersection about 6 p.m. Sunday. The train speed is about 45 mph and officials say the crossing gates were operating.

KSTP-TV (https://bit.ly/1m2EZwT ) says the intersection in Minneapolis was closed about two hours following the incident. Passengers were transferred to a bus. The train operator was taken off duty and tested for drugs and alcohol as per protocol.
