GREENWICH, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 77-year-old man has died in a house fire in a village in eastern New York.
Officials tell The Post-Star of Glens Falls (https://bit.ly/1ceweu7 ) that the fire was reported shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday at a three-story home on Route 29 in Greenwich in Washington County, 35 miles northeast of Albany.
Police on Monday identified the victim as Paul M. Parker Sr. Officials say his wife escaped the blaze.
Fire departments from Greenwich and several neighboring rural towns battled the blaze, which destroyed the house.
Police say the fire isn’t considered suspicious but the cause is under investigation.
Two other homes were damaged.
