MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (AP) - A southern Illinois man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 20-year-old former Marion High School football standout.

Kely Arbuckle of Murphysboro was charged in the death of Toren Stanley of Marion on March 9 in Carbondale. Authorities said Arbuckle killed Stanley during a drive-by shooting

Arbuckle was arrested on a Jackson County warrant March 22 in Arkansas on a Greyhound bus by U.S. Marshals. He waived extradition.



In addition to murder, the 26-year-old Arbuckle on Monday was also found guilty on one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm and one of possession with intent to deliver cannabis.

Jackson County State’s Attorney Mike Carr says Arbuckle will be sentenced on March 13.
