DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - Representatives of a north Alabama hospital say multiple patients have recently died of flu-related complications.

Decatur Morgan Hospital spokeswoman Leigh Hayes says four patients with influenza have died in the past month.

It’s unclear what strain of flu the patients had and their identities haven’t been released.

Hayes says the hospital is isolating patients who are coughing and have high temperatures.

According to a weekly report by the Centers for Disease Control, Alabama is one of many states where the flu is considered widespread this season.
