The long-term girlfriend of French President Francois Hollande was admitted to the hospital following reports of an affair between her boyfriend and actress Julie Gayet, sources said Sunday.

Valerie Trierweiler, 48, was admitted after being shaken by reports of a relationship between Mr. Hollande and Miss Gayet, Reuters reported Sunday.

“She has been in hospital since Friday. She will leave tomorrow,” said her spokesperson, Patrice Biancone.

The president threatened to sue Closer magazine, complaining of breach of privacy after it said he was having an affair with the “Chaos and Desire” actress.

Miss Trierweiler’s spokesperson said “she will decide what to do” about the alleged affair after she gets some rest, Reuters reported.
