VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) - A Valley City congregation whose church was destroyed in an arson fire has decided to rebuild.

The fire last October caused an estimated $2.5 million in damage to Faith Lutheran Church. The 800 members of the congregation have decided to build a new church at the same spot.

Pastor Jolene Knutson tells KOVC radio that construction will take about two years. KFGO radio reports it’s expected to cost about $2 million.

Knutson says many of the stained glass windows from the old church will be saved.

Two people are charged with torching the church to cover up a break-in.
