BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A convicted felon in North Dakota says he will plead guilty for his role in a confrontation with U.S. marshals.

Victor Periera is charged with assaulting a federal officer for the September 2013 incident. He faces a maximum penalty of eight years in prison.

Authorities say Periera challenged officers to a fight when they visited the residence of a woman as part of her supervised release. The woman was prohibited with having contact with convicted felons.

Periera allegedly threw a shoe at one of the marshals and then pushed the officer in the chest.
