ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a man found hanging from a tree in St. Petersburg was electrocuted.

The police department is investigating the accident. The man’s identity has not yet been released.

Fire rescue responded to the scene Saturday afternoon and found the man hanging from a tree. He had been working for a tree service when he touched a power line and became unconscious.



Fire crews were able to reach the man who was about 40 feet in the air and hanging from his safety harness, motionless. CPR was performed on him before he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man is believed to be approximately 50 years old.
