CARTERET, N.J. (AP) - Murder charges have been filed against a man accused of fatally shooting a teenager this week at central New Jersey apartment complex.

Middlesex County prosecutors said 28-year-old Antwon Smith of Carteret also faces weapons charges in connection with Thursday afternoon’s shooting in the borough. The arrest was announced Saturday, a day after Smith was arrested while walking on a Carteret street.

He was being held on $1 million bail, and it was not known if he has retained an attorney.

Smith is charged in the death of Robert “Rocky” Bailey, a 17-year-old Elizabeth resident who was found shot in the head outside the River Run complex in Carteret. He died the next day at a hospital.
