ALLENSTOWN, N.H. (AP) - Charges have been upgraded against a New Hampshire teenager accused in the stabbing of another teenage woman in an Allenstown park last month.

Eighteen-year-old Samantha Heath of Barnstead is now charged with attempted first-degree murder.

She’s accused of stabbing 18-year-old Andrea Halvorsen 15 times on Jan. 28.

Heath’s attorney would not comment on the case.

Police say the women knew each other.

Heath’s boyfriend, 22-year-old Kyle Buffum of Barnstead, also is charged with helping to plan the crime.

A deputy county attorney told the Concord Monitor (https://bit.ly/1bz3KMm) that Halvorsen underwent surgery after the stabbing and was in stable condition at Concord Hospital last week.

Both Heath and Buffum were being held on $500,000 bail.
