CLEVELAND (AP) - Officials say eight Cleveland city firefighters have been demoted or suspended for taking part in a prank that involved urinating on the photo of a former division chief.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group (https://bit.ly/1aCKP8f ) reports that the conduct of the firefighters “brought dishonor to the ranks of fire officers,” according to city safety director Martin Flask.

An investigation showed that the official photograph of a former chief was stolen from the Fire Training Academy in August and placed in urinals at two bars during a celebration held in honor of newly-minted firefighters.

A summary of the investigation said “numerous members of the public and family members of the graduates, including children, were exposed to this despicable and reprehensible act.”
