WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Town leaders in Williston are exploring a Tax Increment Financing District to fund a downtown parking garage.
The City Commission plans to hold a public hearing on the idea at its next meeting on Tuesday.
The Williston Herald reports the (https://bit.ly/1etwkoi ) area would include commercial and residential properties in the downtown area.
City departments say at least one multi-story parking garage is needed to meet current and future demand.
A TIF is designed to use future tax revenue to pay for improvements.
