PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Some students at a Rhode Island law school are criticizing how authorities handled a threatening email allegedly sent by a Massachusetts man.
The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1btjNLR ) that students at the Roger Williams University Law School say police swarmed the campus in Bristol Tuesday morning, but they weren’t notified about why until just before 1 p.m.
And a student at the school says she was mentioned in the threatening email, but no one told her and officials let her leave campus unattended.
Police allege 36-year-old Kevin Pacheco sent an email Tuesday morning threatening violence at the university. He surrendered to police Tuesday evening after a six-hour standoff at his home in Dartmouth, Mass.
Police and school officials say there was no immediate threat to campus public safety Tuesday.
