MAGNA, Utah (AP) - Police say nobody was hurt when officers exchanged gunfire with a man suspected of forgery in Magna.
Unified police Lt. Justin Hoyal says officers responded to reports of forgery at a Wells Fargo branch a little before 2 p.m. Thursday.
Hoyal says the suspect fled the bank and officers chased him into a neighborhood, where he pulled out a gun and starting shooting at police.
Hoyal says officers returned fire, but none of the shots hit the suspect.
The man was taken into custody. His identity wasn’t immediately known.
Hoyal says the officers who shot at the man are expected to be placed on administrative leave while authorities investigate the incident.
