WARREN, Vt. (AP) - An autopsy shows a 19-year-old Rhode Island woman died of a broken neck when she skied into a trail signpost at Sugarbush Ski Resort last week.

Police say Kendra Bowers lost control, skied off a trail and crashed at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The University of Vermont sophomore was pronounced dead about an hour later at a hospital.

The state medical examiner’s office reports that Bowers was wearing a helmet.

She was a native of Newport and graduated from St. George’s School in 2012.
