NEW YORK (AP) - Long Island Rail Road service has been restored between Jamaica and Mineola following an earlier disruption due to a disabled train.

The railroad says riders were delayed 2 hours and 30 minutes as a result.

The MTA says the 6:24 a.m. from Ronkonkoma due in Penn Station at 7:30 a.m. became disabled between Bellerose and Floral Park.

Another train got stuck behind it. That was the 6:38 a.m. train from Huntington due at Atlantic Terminal at 7:36 a.m.

Passengers were transferred to another train and were on the move again at 9:38 a.m.

The railroad says the problem was weather-related.
