LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Long Beach officials say a homeless man lying on the beach has been struck by a city maintenance vehicle.

The Long Beach Press-Telegram (https://bit.ly/Lyh9gN ) says the unidentified man was hospitalized after being hit by the small truck at about 9 a.m. Tuesday.

His condition was unknown.



Officials say the crew member was conducting routine trash collection.

The incident is under investigation.
