BOSTON (AP) - Around a foot a snow has been reported across Massachusetts as a winter storm winds down.

About half that much is reported in the southeastern part of the state, where rain and sleet mixed in.

At mid-evening Wednesday, the National Weather Service reported 13 inches at Lunenburg in Worcester County. Twelve-inch totals were reported in Western Massachusetts in West Springfield, Ludlow, and South Hadley.

In the greater Boston area, Winchester and Framingham had around a foot, as did West Peabody on the North Shore. Many locations, including Boston’s Logan International Airport, had around 10 inches.

A winter storm warning continued until 1 a.m. for northern and central areas including Boston, where a little more snow was expected.

State police warned drivers to take it slow because of black ice and slush even though main roads are improving.
